Prospecting

One of the big features that is coming with the Subspace Assault Expansion is a new resource gathering mechanic known as Prospecting. Prospecting allows players to harvest resources from planets, moons, suns and asteroids on the fly, provided they have a Prospecting Beam and a Prospecting Scanner.

Prospecting Nodes contain a self-renewing source of a single commodity. It’s been a bit since I’ve made a post about the upcoming alien invasion content -- so here’s a look at what I’ve been working on as well as some more details concerning invasion content!

Firstly -- I’ve done a lot of work refining and making additions to the subspace layer generation code. 2013 is shaping up to be a pretty big year for Star Sonata. We just concluded a nearly 4 hour long meeting where we addressed player concerns and issues common to the player base. We’ve planned out a lot of really cool features that you guys get to vote on for what we work on first (or if you even like them at all). Firstly, my apologies for the lack of update last week. Last weekend got somewhat busy and I was a bit unwell at the start of the week. Onwards to more cherry subjects though, Spacey Jones!

 

I've finished up making most of the items to go with him, most of last week's session was spent doing items and tweaks. Sorry for the late update this week. Sleeping schedule is a bit messed and I got really tired!

 

Anyway, finished up balancing out the scaling of Spacey Jones strength, made some more lovely items for him as well (16 auras would be a good start). I would have to say that the most 'exciting' part of this though is that I started writing his script!

We're EXPANDING!!!!

I am so excited to announce that Star Sonata has expanded it's paid staff. Our development team has grown from Jeff, our project lead and Jey, our server administrator and lead programmer, to nine total paid staff! This is all thanks to you, our players, for sticking with us over the 8 years of our existence.
